About CUEBC

CUEBC is a Provincial Specialists' Association (PSA) of the British Columbia Teachers’ Federation (BCTF). We are an organization of British Columbia volunteer K-12 teachers dedicated to promoting the educational uses of technology in the classroom. We host BC's longest running teacher-focused educational technology Pro-D conference every October.

Dave McCristall

Dave has a passion for supporting teachers in all aspects of their work especially around professional development. He has been president of CUEBC since 2018. Prior to being president he served on the executive committee as treasurer and before that as a conference chair. As an avid technology user Dave enjoys spending time tinkering with the latest tech innovations and thinking about how to make teachers work more efficient. He loves working with colleagues to develop new ways to assess student learning and improve their practice.

Darren has a background in computer science and is currently teaching the Palo Alto Cybersecurity Academy and AP Computer Science A at Cariboo Hill Secondary School in SD41.

Brianna joined the CUEBC exec in 2023. She is a teacher at Fleetwood Park Secondary, where she founded and runs the Computer Science Co-op program. She is passionate about all things technology, but especially AI. She enjoys helping other teachers to incorporate technology in their own classes.

Treasurer, Terry Fox Secondary - SD43
Dennis is an Information and Communication Technology Teacher at Terry Fox Secondary School. He has also taught Math, Science, Physics and Chemistry in his 30 years of teaching in Coquitlam and Vancouver. Dennis has held executive positions at CUEBC since the mid-2000s, serving in various capacities. He is a lifelong learner especially if it involves tech, fitness, or cooking. For over 45 years, he has been meticulously planning the Canucks' Stanley Cup parade route.
Cari Wilson

Member at Large, West Vancouver School District - SD45
Cari Wilson currently works in the West Vancouver School District where she is the District Vice Principal of Innovation and Technology and an instructor in the Mechatronics Robotics Academy. With a Masters Degree in Educational Technology, Cari has over 20 years of experience in the classroom, much of that in a 1:1 or BYOD environment. Cari is a Book Creator Champion, a Google for Education Trainer, and an Apple Distinguished Educator. While not truly techie (what, there's no wizard inside my computer making it work?!) Cari enjoys finding innovative and engaging ways to use technology in the classroom.

Generational Wisdom, Retired Teacher - SD68
Mike has had a long history with CUEBC and is entering his fourth decade of involvement. First as a participant, then presenter, Vancouver Island Regional Representative, Vice-President, President and now Past-President. Having taught from Elementary to the Graduate level and being a participating member of the last four incarnations of the Technology/ADST Curriculum, he has brought a wide range of experience to help support CUEBC meeting its goal of providing enriching workshops for all levels of technology users. In recognition of his contribution to students and teachers of BC upon his retirement he was awarded an honorary lifetime membership in the BCTF. In retirement Mike has continued to support the use of technology with BC Teachers. As the Coordinator of Professional Learning for Focused Education he continues to support teachers with use of the Digital Classroom Resources. He also finds time for a little sailing, golf and playing with the grandkids.
